Here at KIKI & SEBBY®, we are asked lots of questions about muslins. We have gathered together the most commonly asked questions for you.
How many muslins do you need for a baby?
We advise having between three and five muslins on hand at all times. It’s also helpful to store muslins in the places where you’ll inevitably need one, such as the baby’s changing bag, near their changing unit, in the pram and around the house.
Why do babies need muslins?
Larger muslin squares are perfect for swaddling because they are so soft and breathable. Swaddling gives babies a warm, cosy feeling that reminds them of when they were in the womb. Muslin swaddles provide an added layer of cosiness for newborns, and many parents consider them an absolute must-have.
How often should you wash a muslin?
There’s no hard-and-fast rule here; it all depends on how often and for what purpose you’ll be utilising them. You should wash them after each use, more so if there were any spillages on them.
Can my baby sleep with a muslin blanket?
Muslins are an excellent choice for your baby to sleep with, as they are breathable and naturally absorb the scent of their parents. Make sure there are not any dangling threads that could present a choking danger, and for very young babies, the recommendation is that they are in an ‘empty cot’ for those initial months. We would recommend our muslin sleeping bags in these early months.
Does muslin get softer?
Muslin a durable fabric that can be washed over and over again without losing its shape or softness. The durability of a muslin blanket is second to none, and with care, it should last for years. They get increasingly softer with each washing.
Does muslin keep babies warm?
Muslins are ideal because they are breathable and wick away sweat, keeping your baby toasty without the risk of overheating.
At KIKI & SEBBY® we have a wide range of luxurious muslin products for your baby. Take a look here for more information.
