Many of our customers use a Kiki and Sebby muslin as a swaddle. We have talked previously about ‘How to Swaddle’ but we are often asked when I should stop swaddling my baby.
Swaddling generally helps many young babies sleep better, but there comes a time when they no longer need to be wrapped / swaddled. The question is, when should that be? The short answer is that you should stop swaddling your child when he or she can roll over. However, all babies are different, and they start to roll at different ages – some as early as 2 months, but some are far older.
In general, babies do best when they are swaddled until they are 4 or 5 months old, but that won’t work for babies who roll over early. You may also need to change the way that you swaddle as your baby gets older – they may prefer to be swaddled with their arms free, for example.
Once you move on from swaddling, we would recommend using a KIKI & SEBBY Sleeping Bag. This natural progression will help to ensure that both you and your baby get a restful night’s sleep.
